I had an issue with the Mocal sandwich plate when I installed the oil cooler. Oil was ALL OVER the driver's side of the engine bay with no signs of loose lines. I checked the adapter for the filter as well. It turned out I had a pinhole on the Mocal plate itself! It was a defect from the sand casting process making the plate. I took it back to JR and Oscar Sr and Jr replaced it for me. Sr said in all his years selling this particular part he had never seen a defect like this, I just happened to be the "lucky" one.

I would top off the oil, clean the bay as best you can and have someone start it but ready to shut it down as quickly as possible so you can inspect the plate since lines don't look affected. I took a video of my defect and will try to post it shortly.

Sorry I didn't bring this defect to everyone's attention earlier. JR definitely knows about it though. We figured it was a complete anomaly.
