Union Pacific apparently has a huge yard in West Chicago.
I'm not sure how to link a google map.. But go to google maps and type in "Union Pacific automotive facility, West Chicago, IL". It's just Southeast of DuPage county airport.
So far I've found that BNSF employees receive an employee discount on Subaru. This should indicate that Subaru does use BNSF.
I've also found a port of vancouver, wa website that talks about a subaru unloading facility and also mentions Union Pacific railraod in the same article.. that might indicate that Subaru uses UP as wel... but not sure..
*One more edit.. based on this article.. I'd say BNSF is the most likely carrier of Subaru's cars. They apparently carry 80% of the freight out of the port of Vancouver.

So, my best guess is that Subaru uses the BNSF facility in Elwood.. Just south of Joliet. That's a long drive out of Chicago.. but if someone lives on the south side already and has nothing better to do.. maybe they can go snoop around? Take a camera!
