Now again, you situation may be different, and maybe the piece of mind is worth it to you. If so, OK. I just wouldn't assume you are going to gain back the money you spent, on average.

Valid points. For me, I have it for the peace of mind. It's the first car I've purchased and I had wanted it just in case something really unfortunate happened (knock on wood nothing happens).
I drive just about 5,000 miles a year, if maybe a little more than that. I can always cancel that warranty and get some prorated money back, but that was back in August, so I actually don't know if i'll be getting any type of money back that's worth the hassle of cancelling it.
Thoughts?
