I think it'll be worth it. With everything that the Gold Plus offers (when I read the brochure) I think it'll pay for itself in the long run. Any thoughts?

I'll admit up front I think they are never worth it, if they aren't basically free but that said...
If I was considering it, I would have to decide what I was really getting. You aren't getting a 6 yr/75000 mile warranty. What you are getting is an extension of the manufacturer's warranty that you've already paid for.
The FR-S has two warranties. A 3 yr/36,000 bumper to bumper and a 5 year/60000 powertrain warranty.
So, assuming the BRZ is similar, and the Gold package is a bumper to bumper (with no exclusions) you purchased:
Additional 3 year/39,000 Bumper to Bumper excluding drivetrain
Additional 1 year/15,000 mile drivetrain warranty
Since I drive over 20,000 miles a year, I can discount the year portion of the equation.
The non-drivetrain portion of the warranty is basically useless as far as I'm concerned. There's typically so much "wear and tear" exclusions in it that it really doesn't pay for anything. Plus, I don't think in 30 years I've ever had something I would have had to fix that wasn't covered in the basic warranty.
That means, for me, the $1,100 you paid only covers 15,000 miles of drivetrain warranty. Nope, not worth it.
Now again, you situation may be different, and maybe the piece of mind is worth it to you. If so, OK. I just wouldn't assume you are going to gain back the money you spent, on average.
