My big gripe with the Primacy was the upper end of its heat range was far too low for my climate. By 2nd run they would be greasy. By 3rd run the car was so loose I thought I broke something and abandoned the run - to date the only time I've been scared in this car. Begged for a water sprayer before my 4th run and it got better but still required a lot of wheel work to keep pointed the right way.
You do learn a lot about the car on that tire, and it's probably a good tire for conditions where you won't exceed its heat range. In 40 degree weather, I'd still prefer a "real" tire plus some tire covers between runs, and then I'd use my first couple of runs strategically to work on tire temps.
