I see now. Just FYI, the Aisin tranny is built to very tight tolerances, and as such, shifting when the tranny is outside of operating condition while it warms up will >always< be notchy. I don't know why people expect anything else...
here's a pretty awesome tip from another forum mate on shifting into second cold:
When starting out in first, sweep up to 3k rpm or so and hold it at constant load for 4-5 seconds, then shift into second as normal.
has really helped. I have Motul 300 in both diff and tranny, whiteline tranny insert bushing, TRD Quickshifter, MTec springs, a swapped 3/8" slave cylinder, as well as done the free easy clutch adjustment.. yet nothing helped that second gear crunch/notchiness until I incorporated this procedure into my driving habits... works 90%+ of the time, the other 10% of the time I'm being lazy and not being cognisant of the gate & input shaft speeds.
