A 15 month old means 2 years ago his(or her) family went +1, before (s)he even posted on here. This is not a surprise situation for OP but rather something they have had literally years to think about. It's obvious (to me) this is the kind of person who is much more satisfied going with their gut and who's time would be much better spent reading comparison tests and seeing the cars in person than polling fanbois on an enthusiast site in order to get quality carbuying advice.

I fully expect a post in a year "halp, can't fit two strollers in my WRX, should I buy an Acura MDX or Ford Raptor?"

And your 'artefacts' are not helpful, comments on handling dynamics and transmissions that can't handle more power are of low consequence to a person mostly concerned with taking Johnny and Jane to the park in the afternoon while saving up for their college education.
they are helpful if you consider the whole reason for buying a WRX over the base impreza. Is that not helpful to save the guy the headache of buying a "sports sedan" that is terribly outclassed by the immediate early and later revisions? The WRX 5mts BREAK all the time, even at stock power levels. It's a consequence of their design- How do I know? I've rebuilt one, and installed 3 5mts, two of them in my own wrx, within 6 years. My current 5mt is the RA cryo gearset with straight cut 1-3, and even then, I am nervous.

Just think a little more on calling out whether or not something is helpful, because one should always take into consideration the holistic picture of the system, not just select features that are "attractive" to their lifestyle and life trajectory.
