Mine went away 100% of the time as soon as I started filling up with 91/93 octane PURE gasoline with 0% ethanol. If I go back to a regular US mandated 10% ethanol the crickets return as soon as it clears the fuel line.
Every "86 friend" I have met, I tell them to try it and they all come back saying it fixed it. The problem is this gas is about $1 more a gallon. Other than killing the crickets, the tiny fuel economy/performance bump isnt enough to justify the price hike. Can we kill ethanol in the US already? Or at least bring it down to 5%, where I have found the crickets dont come out to play except on the hottest of days...
