2500 RPM at 74? Damn, that would be nice. Here's from a previous post I made:
"With manual transmission : indicated speed of 60mph is 2600 RPM, 70mph is 3000 RPM, and 80mph is 3450 RPM. That is better than I hoped in that I'm one of those guys that likes an overdrive 6th gear for good mileage and quiet interior at highway speed."
If the auto is doing 2500 RPM at 74 then I think I will consider dropping in the 3.73 rear diff gearing. Sure, it will make all the gears taller but I can live with that. I don't think it will get me to 2500 RPM at 74, probably something more like 2650 RPM at 70 mph but it's closer.
