Even if it's dry outside, the stock tires aren't meant to be driven in temps below 45F. The tire compound isn't designed for those temperatures. In freezing temps, the Primacys (or any summer tire) become rock hard and provide very little grip. Sure, most of us can get the car moving, but the whole point of having good tires is to have good grip in emergency situations - when you need to brake all of a sudden, or swerve to avoid that deer/car/person in the road. If you drive on the Primacys or any summer tire in below freezing temperatures, you're putting yourself and everyone else around you at risk. In some European countries, insurance will not cover you if you crash in the winter and are found to have summer tires on the car, even if the accident is not your fault.
