Yes there was high demand the first few months but if you take a look at the sales the trends are down and will likely continue to trend down. Just like every other Japanese sports car sold in America: Miata, 350/370Z, RX-8, S2000.
Not bad, just realistically speaking it hasn't met the optimistic expectations set forth, they are NOT producing 100k per year otherwise we would have seen the "200k produced!" jubilee by now or at least within the next 3 months (3 years anniversary this spring). Maybe that was just hype, I don't know, but Toyobaru's are a drop in the bucket in this country compared to Mustangs and Camaros and Challengers, each of those selling in 2x to 3x the volume.
