I'd attest that to statistics, have a higher number of those vehicles on the road and large portion not reporting it to a forum as the main crowd may not use a forum. The FRS/BRZ twins have a smaller sample size and the fact a massive percentage use the forum as well are "car people" it exacerbates the failure rate. I'd like to see a comparison of failure rates to other vehicles using an equivalent proportion.

Failure rates are extremely difficult to determine. The extended warranty companies release their findings but those are older cars and they don't include mileage or reason for failure.
Manufacturers aren't going to release failure rates for obvious reasons. Parts per million I would
guess a good number for the major companies would be less than 50.
