Would adding 50hp make the car a ton faster? No ask the people on here who have already done it.
Would adding 50hp make the car far more expensive? No it could likely be done without adding more the $3k to the sticker price.

Would adding 50hp to the car make it feel quicker and give it that extra little most people hint it needs? For the vast majority of people, yes it would.
Why do I presume this?
Well I could cite tons of links to tons of articles/editorials/OP's that site the need for a little more HP.
I could also direct you to many of the sub forums here where many users are trying to achieve a very similar number on their cars through aftermarket parts and tunes.

Having an option from the factory would satisfy all those people who dont want to delve into aftermarket customizing and tuning along with the problems and voided warranties that go with it.

Be a little open minded here.
At no point did I say that I personally wouldn't want a little more nor that I wasn't doing something along those lines eventually.

The point is that the car was designed and made the way it was because that is what was asked for and that was the vision all along. They were very clear that those that want more power are able to do so but they are not interested in making it that way from the start. Contrary to what many think it was never built as an out of the box race car but as an economical, fun, attractive sports coupe that can easily be built into a race car (or show car or whatever you want).

I have read all the articles and disagree with many as they were biased from the start and just escalated from there. The term "vast majority" gets thrown out every time this debate comes up but in reality the "vast majority" of the people buying this car do not frequent this forum and could care less if there is 50 more HP. It wouldn't matter if there was 50 more stock anyway because then the not enough power guys would just say it should have 51!

You feel that I have rose coloured glasses and am closed minded but like a few others you seem to be blinded by the need to have more power. As Tada stated in his article "you can't please everyone" so those that do not think it is powerful enough but don't do anything about it simply bought the wrong car in the first place.

Damn it! I promised myself I would not get sucked into these More Power debates anymore!!!!!!!!
