I think your rose tinted glasses are keeping you from seeing this as objectively as possible.
Most critics have not complained about the fact that the car is no horsepower monster but rather that it is just a tad underpowered.
Would adding 50hp make the car a ton faster? No ask the people on here who have already done it.
Would adding 50hp make the car far more expensive? No it could likely be done without adding more the $3k to the sticker price.
Would adding 50hp to the car make it feel quicker and give it that extra little most people hint it needs? For the vast majority of people, yes it would.
Why do I presume this?
Well I could cite tons of links to tons of articles/editorials/OP's that site the need for a little more HP.
I could also direct you to many of the sub forums here where many users are trying to achieve a very similar number on their cars through aftermarket parts and tunes.
Having an option from the factory would satisfy all those people who dont want to delve into aftermarket customizing and tuning along with the problems and voided warranties that go with it.
Be a little open minded here.
