Sounds like we are on a similar platform mentality. Let's start with my set up:

Cut snorkle at right bolt (vs left, 2nd bolt), then heated open with a pop 20oz bottle.
AEM Intake
Manzo overpipe
plans for an OFH
OFT tuner

Issues I am seeing in the custom tunes I am working on for my vehicle:
Air flow is too turbulent. Snorkle is designed to smooth airflow so I am losing HP, TQ potential.

No header is causing restriction and too much back pressure in the exhaust. I want to open this up and run 2.5" minimum header to tails.

AEM comes with a sensor that adjusts the MAF map for stock cars (not tuned). This kept me from getting a CEL when stock. Now it's changing my MAF modifications in my OFT tunes. rawr.

***End Goal***

If I could see 230hp / 220tq to the floor, I'd be really happy. This is going to take money, time, effort, and a smidge of luck.

As for turbos / FI... It's true. HP/TQ per dollar it's cheaper

EDIT:: FORGOT TO ADD WAYS FOR EXTRA HP -- Tunes, E85 (Higher % is better), replacing internals of engine, new header, replace exhaust with open piping.

WAYS TO FREE UP HP:: Light weight flywheel, light weight pullies, ect. These don't "give" you power, be rather prevent you from losing power during transfer to the wheels.

remember that open pipe exhausts are loud... possibly not street legal in your area. Also a car with too little weight can become unstable during use of power. so careful with how light you get.
