In Japan, WRX STI still uses EJ20 and WRX S4 uses FA20. They're both 300+ hp though.

I've read somewhere that they had to make U.S. STI EJ25 to keep 300+ hp and had to detune FA20 down to 260's hp because of the bad fuel. I don't remember where I read it, so I don't have the link to the source.

It's in Japanese, but under power train, it says JDM WRX STI has EJ20 carried over from the previous gen STI.

And it revs to 8000 rpm.
