And people are not used to seeing tail lights on during the day and could lead to confusion about someone braking constantly (that is until the person actually applies the brakes). Its a circular argument that can be discussed ad nausem. The point is, anytime you start messing with the lights on vehicles you need to be careful. Turning lights off that should be normally on and turning others on when they should be off leads to situations that might make you liable in the event of an accident if investigated.
The whole point of this module is to turn on the boomerangs (which serve no purpose other than aesthetics) while the DRL's are on. Running with your tail lights on but not your headlamps and sidemarkers and stating its for visibility concerns doesn't make sense. If you are concerned about people seeing you, then turn on your headlamps (and as a result, all other lights).
