Looking at the tire-size conversion
It shows:
275/35R17 = 24.6x10.8R17 is the only other equal one... that's too wide of a tire and definitely too much if I'm only aiming at 300 whp lols
If I do want to stick with 17s and have a wider grip than stock 215, I will have to do a 245/40 which is a +0.4%... which is as close as I am going to get on 18s.
So is 245/40 with 17x8.5-9 a sound choice?
