Most of the penalty for extra width has to be coming from being pinched, not the extra weight. And I would put exactly 0 faith in per size tire weights being accurate anyway.
Bottom line, to me, is that we're all still talking about them, so there is no clear cut tire and size. 10 years ago the answer (when I was in STX) was Azenis in whatever size fit. This is more fun.
