Yep after a bit of playing around I have now converted all my snowboarding movies to avi 685 x x385 with an awesome program called Super Simple Video Converter (

Chucked them on a usb hd and boom all working!
I have removed my handbrake boot and cut the plastic button that activates all the extra options and dvd when the handbrake is up so now that all works fine while driving. Mind you its mainly so my girlfriend can put in addresses and watch dvds not me (saftey first mum).
Mind you now the little handbrake light is always on ((!)). But I thinks theres a way to wire it so that doesn't happen I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
