Yeah... I don't fancy those much, either. But they don't ruin the car IMHO.

They do a job reducing the amount of salt, sand and grit blasting my fenders and doors.
They're not pretty, does nothing for the aesthetics, but they make me feel less sorry for my car when doing scandinavian flicks on dirt roads.
