Sad story: we had cats in LA when my dad drove his Triumph TR4.
The cats loved to jump up inside the engine bay and sit on the engine after he returned from a drive while it was warm.
We found one cat dead in the street right outside our driveway one day.
Another day the second cat came in with all of the hair & skin missing from it's tail (had to have it amputated). Imagine a cat with a skeleton's tail.
You can figure out what was happening...
