I'm going to disagree just a bit. 90% of them are normal people, but they change that attitude towards the one you're describing when you're at work. I had the opportunity to work out at a boxing gym with a cop - nicest guy ever. Then I had the opportunity to see him pull people over and work - totally different person.
But I think the big thing is that there are a lot of veterans in the police forces that simply didn't get enough action in the military and are trying to catch up on it or something?
