I've owned a number of GM V8's over the years however, with the draconian focus on speed limits and the average speed zones round me being 50 and 60kph, I see no point at all behind owning a V8 or even a V6. Engine tech has advanced quite far over the years to the point where the average 6 these days will outperform mass produced 8's from as little as 20 years back and likewise 4 cylinder cars have come a long long way too. Owning a Mustang, in this day and age (to me), is just beyond pointless.

On the fuel front I used to drive a 5.7L Monaro (GTO in the states) like it was stolen and saw 19L/100km economy all the time. Thats on 98RON, which I belive is equiv to the US 93. I still cannot belive how hard I can beat on my twin and still get respectable economy neting 12L(ish)/100km, but slowly improving as I learn to drive smoother.

Must admit I'm pretty in love with my BRZ. I really hope they keep making them and in all honesty I totally see myself buying another, as my next car, even if there has been little to no change made to it in the coming years.
