I think we also have to keep in mind that this isn't an A80, the powerplant isn't a 2JZ, and it doesn't have a Getrag V160 gearbox. I think being able to handle doubling the wtq output through the transmission is impressive. The engine being even more impressive, in Reaper's case, being able to push 460whp (~300whp increase) through the FA20 on stock internals.

All that said, I too have both crickets and crappy synchros. The latter being the scariest and the most inexcusable, imho.

We just have to remember that this isn't a 3400lb beast. This isn't the successor to the Supra. It came with only 200bhp/165whp because it wasn't created to be the next highway king; it was made to be an affordable little sports car that takes corners like a dream.

I think, especially using Reaper as an example, this platform is exactly what I was looking for... If the synchros issue can be fixed (be it aftermarket or warranty), then I think I should be able to safely push 350-400whp with about 250-300wtq. I'd say that's pretty good for this little car, especially running on stock internals.
