You won't get pulled over, but you can get a violation while the car is parked and the cop just wants to be a ****. I have never run a front plate on any of my cars, but have received two tickets because of it. The first time I had my car parked on the side of the road near my work (legally parked!) when I was trying to sell it (I had a for sale sign in the window). When I left work to get my car there was a ticket on the windshield waiting for me. The second time I was parked at an airport car park. I was gone for two weeks. Got home, took the shuttle to my car, and blam ticket on the windshield.
