mid 2016 means it's likely to be a 2017 model year given the way NA does model years.
Still no good!
An unnamed "designer", no official statements from Toyota and stating there will be a convertible by last October all make it speculation at best and creative journalism at worst.
Until Toyota releases an official news release I don't believe a word of it!
