Our stock tires are 182 on tire rack. A/S 3's, which I also chose to replace them for maryland driving, are only 142. I don't believe the A/S 3's were out when the car came out, but I'm sure there was something comparable. Here is a list of some of the ratings betweeen these tires.

Primacy vs A/S 3
Price $182 vs $148
Treadwear 240 vs 500
Hydroplaning resistance 7.7 vs 9.0
Wet Traction 7.5 vs 9.1
Dry Traction 8.0 vs 9.2
Steering response 8.1 vs 9.1
Ride comfort 7.6 vs 8.5
noise comfort 7.3 vs 8.1

Primacies have no ratings on their snow/ice abilty because they are summer tires. I was fine with the stock tires when it was dry and warm too, but it's not like that all year. It suprises me they put a summer tire on a car sold in so many different areas, when there are all seasons with specs far better that look basically the same and should last longer.
