It might help to drive a gutless 100hp car for a week before buying the BRZ - then it will seem to have ok torque. Seriously, coming from my 1.8l Miata to the BRZ, the Suby had no issues on hills at low rpm and on steep grades I didn't need to downshift unless I was really trying to accelerate. The same hills in the Miata and I'd have to build momentum. If someone was going slow in front of me I was stuck.
But even after that comparison, the car looks like it should be faster and the chassis is so well done it can handle more power. Alas, it should have come with 50 more ponies and 100 more torque. Still pretty fun to drive though and no temptations to drag race.
