Yup, that's why I change the way I drive, specially down shifting. If you try to get hot to a tight turn (late braking and down shift "aggressive" so the rpms get close to the rev limiter with the rear tires braking traction just before full throttle again "that could be 2 or 3 gears at the same time" (on the AT cars you can even down shift 4 gears at the same time)... But all that spinning in so little time is NO good for the belt... Also change the differential bushings (they start early wear noise) and yes this is abusing from the car, but that's why I didn't buy something expensive
So yes you can down shift, you can up shift, you can use you AC and you can even go to track events and the unit would hold.
As side note: it is more "rewarding" (and would let you know you car better) to take the turns in 3 or 4 gear at 35-45 mph... But then a little bit of more midrange would be welcome. Already with the 4.88 final drive.
