Two hours of my life wasted. They had me bring the car to their garage and leave it for 90 minutes to ensure it was cooled down. Then they used an iPhone app and had me start the car while they held the phone about ten feet behind the car. They asked me to rev the engine to about 3k right away and I said no it needed to run for a while before I would do that. Apparently everybody winds their car up as they start it
That didn't go well and I had to explain what a bad idea that was and it's something I would never do. Then they raised it on the lift and took a few pics and I showed them what I had come up with and they said if they have any more problems they'd call me back in for a more formal examination.
I told them if they really want to get an idea of what these cars sound like they should come to our houses, or wherever the problems are being created, to get a real world measurement and they should use real equipment not a smartphone. They said the info they were gathering would be sufficient. bullshit...
