Lake-Effect Snow Resumes as the Deep Freeze Expands

January 6, 2015; 2:52 PM ET

The lake-effect snow machine will get cranking once again tonight through Wednesday night across Ontario as more cold air pours in from the far north.
Initially, the snow bands will set up more west-southwest to east-northeast tonight before turning more northwest to southeast during Wednesday behind the arctic cold front.
The strongest lake-effect band will likely set up northwest to southeast off Lake Huron Wednesday and very close or right into the London, Ontario, area. Under this band, the visibility will drop to near zero in snow and blowing snow with snowfall rates of 5-10 (2 to 4 inches) cm per hour possible.
