here's the problem. it was ice not snow and everyone in the city left at the same time. literally. that number of people trying to flee the city in perfect weather is a problem. then I would say 60% of the people living from here are from Ohio. they thought since they're from an icebox like that it wouldn't be a problem. ice is ice. AWD/4WD doesn't matter. that's why hockey players wear skates. the the rest of the population has literally zero exp on ice. you see the trick is don't try and drive on ice. it doesn't work. and finally we just don't have the equipment. since it hardly happens once every 5-10 years spending all that money to store and keep all the necessary equipment just isn't worth it.

I would have made it home just fine had a bunch of soccer moms in 2WD Suburbans hadn't blocked the road. had to get out and walk 8 miles.
