If you decide to add weight, try to do it as far from the extreme ends of the car as possible.

Adding weight in the very rear of the trunk will increase polar inertia which will make the car tail happy and harder to pull back from a slide.
2X 100 lb bags of sand in the back seats might help, but I think it is an even trade off.
Heavier car = harder to get moving and harder to stop
