I have had this problem since two days after I got my car and I
have the stock exhaust. On both sides of me are retired seniors who don't like me much because I don't mow my lawn often enough for them and don't spend outrageous amounts of time doing yard work to keep the place pretty. They have both called the cops several times each due to my excessively loud exhaust at 5:45am when I leave for work. Last week I asked a local PO to sit at the end of the driveway when I started the car in the morning and he said it's too loud and I need to do something soon or they will pull my registration. I am at my wits end
If I end up having to get rid of the car because of them I will be pissed and will make sure to make their lives hell.
I think next time the closer one starts his 69 GTO with dual glasspacks I will complain. I know it won't do any good though because the old boy network here is unbeatable but it will make me feel better.
