I have 2013 BRZ mt. I'm at around 55k miles on it and the dealership just replaced my transmission before Christmas. I had the 6th to 5th grind at 58+ MPH only. I never had it grind from 4th to 5th. I mentioned it to the dealer during an oil change and they called back a couple hours later and said it was an internal gear problem. They didn't give me any kind of run around or anything. They didn't say anything about it being misuse or anything. It was almost like they pretty knew about the seemingly widespread problem. There is a thread about this on the 2nd page right now (
