From reading the thread he didn't use a base but seemed to have chrome rims to start.

Tapatalk is giving me trouble uploading. I have a very similar gold color on mine now. I started with the white base pictured above (4 cans of white, 1 can of glossifier), and then did 3 cans of gold metalizer, then one can of pearlizer.
I'll try to get the pics up today.
