What PMok said. Summer tires is a misnomer. It should really be called a 3-season tire. The advantage that all season tires has over a summer tire is that an all season tire can navigate FREEZING temperatures better than a summer tire. In the case of rain, wet, puddles... more times than not, the summer tire actually performs better. There's certainly exception to this rule, but for the most part, it is true.
