^ price is not the defining factor, and yes scion has it's own management, who are clueless and the ones who messed up the brand in the first place, regardless of Toyota's engineering. If they "got it", then the xB 2.0 would be the same as the JDB bB that is out now, except perhaps with a 1.8 or 2.0 engine (Because everyone wanted more power, but now bitch at the worse fuel economy... go figure). The xD would not bother to exist, the iQ would already be here, and the tC would look more like the fuse concept and would have been here 2 years ago. There would also be more variety, a Samauri type mini-jeep for instance.
I have no problem with Toyota sharing the platform and building something that "gels" more with Scions quirky image, but the point of scion is to get younger people to buy into the brand to "graduate" into a Toyota. If Scion has the FT-86, what Toyota would they "graduate" into?
A Supra type car would be far to big a leap. C'mon guys, it's simple logic. Did Toyota hire a bunch of monkeys to work in the board room all of a sudden?
