6 weeks and I've already torn out the entire audio system and upgraded it. Sorry, but the stock (non-satnav) head unit, cables and speakers are pretty crap and, though I'm not one to drive round blasting music loud enough to make ears bleed, I do appreciate a quality sound system and all the modern connectivity they entail.
A brilliant tip, that I learned from other posters here, is to simply drive your car for a while and see what you would like to improve (if anything). Then slowly take that change in and learn if it was a step in the right direction.
This site is a bottomless pit of ideas. I read peoples build threads and learn cool things all the time. This also includes peoples experiences with bad choices and the classic 'if I was to do it all again, would I of done things differently' kind of posts.
Moding was always my intention, but I have to play it safe with a view towards warranty and this being my daily driver. I respect people that just buy a car and leave it stock, but that's my view of more expensive cars like GTR's, M's, AMG's ie you leave those stock and enjoy them as being factory tuned to perfection, but the twins are relatively cheap, this site (and others) are such a wealth of knowledge and there is so much after market support for this platform that it seems a waste not to mod it in some way.
