If you can, put something on the door behind the speaker to manage reflections back through the cone. The breakup on the RS180 isn't too fun and, while you're typically reasonably off-axis in a car, it will still shine through. Especially if you only use a 1st order (which probably will net to a 2nd order acoustic) ...
I'm getting ready to embark on a custom setup myself - I've done a ton of work with the Dayton drivers (not in a car setting, mind) but will be looking to keep weight down - otherwise I'd probably be using some of my Anarchy stash instead. I think it'll be a Satori in the door if it looks like it'll stay dry enough.
I'm really interested to see what is possible with a 3d printer in the dash setting.
