Congrats! First off, what color Series.Blue?
Second, following manufacturer break in is recommended as you would have to polish out the gearings and what not. Also being able to shift through all the gears at different speeds allows the car to break in properly.
However, to each their own. There really is no right way to break it in per se. Do what you want!
I have the Subaru Gold Plus warranty as I didn't want to take any chances, so maybe you're on the same boat with that one.
I paid around $900 for mine.
