Removing a bit of metal from the wheel hub shouldn't be an issue and from a worry point of view I have to admit I'm not really that worried. However, if there is hard evidence that the structural integrity is compromised I won't do it. As for glue I've thought of using it, but it's one of those project I want to just do once and not really mess with a solution that might not hold up to track day heat.
