Whatever the dealer installed, it was probably junk. Dealers usually try to upsell paint protection packages when you purchase the cars. If it were me, I would not let the dealer or any of their contractor install a paint coating on the car. The reason being that dealership detailers are notoriously bad and the products they use don't actually do what they claim to do.

For the record, there are NO permanent paint coatings on the market. They all have some type of life. Depending on what product is installed, it will determine the expected life of the products. Life of a coating is usually 2 years give or take. I imagine has products are further R&D'ed, the life of the product will start to improve.
