For DRLs/high beams, you can have:

1) Halogen bulbs (aftermarket cool white or hyper yellow) and both the DRLs and high beams are just as effective.

2) LED bulbs - it's a cosmetic modification for the DRLs while the high beam functionality suffered (high beams will be activated but will not put out as much light as LED bulbs do not project far enough to be effective LED high beams)

3) HID Kit - both the DRLs and high beams are about 3 times brighter than the factory halogen bulbs. A relay harness is used to eliminate the flickering when the HIDs are in the DRL mode.
