Things don't always move in a direction that will satisfy your personal tastes. Just look at all the versions of the Ford Mustang, holy cow! Some are absolutely horrendous.
From personal experience, I had a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe, and I knew they would be updating the vehicle. The G37 came out and I honestly didn't like what they did with the styling.
