Dear OP,
Don't worry about all the negative comments about your son being spoiled. I myself can relate to your son and I wouldn't be surprised if others reading this post would consider me a "spoiled brat" too.
I received my 2013 Whiteout FRS as a graduation gift from High school. Before I begin, I will go ahead and say that I come from a family that wasn't exactly in the best financial state. Just like your son, I worked hard for my grade which often conflicted with my part-time job, leading me to stay up till 3am three days a week with only 3 hours to sleep and get ready for the next day. Not only were my grades a promise to my parents, I was always honest and respected them. I never had any trouble with the law and always used common sense when it came to my actions.
Today, the car is a symbol of their trust towards me, proving to me that hard work in the real world is appreciated even if it is only by the ones you love. This alone continues to motivate me to reach for my dreams and even if I fail, I won't be alone.
Having such a beautiful car, friends and affiliates still call me spoiled, (which I totally agree) but I know many of them have never worked hard in their life. What bothers me the most, however, is when one has barely earned their diploma and unwilling to take the extra mile yet have the dignity to ask why it wasn't them that received a brand new car.
OP, I want to thank you for being such an awesome father and I promise that the trust you put into your son will pay off.
