Doesn't the Aussie manual specifically allow 5W-30? Our manuals don't define an additional viscosity but do state that a thicker viscosity might be a better choice under heavy loads. Having said that, 3.7 is fairly robust and will behave more like an xW-40 in the bearings.

In all likelihood, there's a very good chance that Dominator doesn't use any VII's which is the reason for the low VI.

It's a dd and has an easy life, 60-70% freeway, very little idling, a few spirited drives, gets min 30 min twice a day, oil gets to 100C within last 10-15min of drive, no freezing temps, decent summers. My recent UOA's look promising although it's early days, there are more coming. Fuel dilution could be an issue, both kV & TBN looks good on 0W20 on this fuel. Amsoil has been highly recommended I see, I like 300V 0W20 also but will it be OK for an extended period like 3125K miles ?

Cheers buddy,
Oh, you're in Oz too? Yes, Motul is fine for 3,125 miles (if that's what you mean). No Pennzoil Ultra there. The group V racing xW-20 oils usually do hold up better, without the need for going to a 30 weight.
