Funny that you mention the Michelins, because I had an informative discussion last week with my tire guy who was about to put a set on my Dad's car (Veloster Turbo). He likes the tires and recommends them.
He also agrees that asymmetrical > directional. He says they are less hassle and will actually keep their grip longer in inclement conditions.
I asked him for a comparison of the Conti DWS vs the Michelin Pilot A/S and he said that the better deal, when it comes to cost vs. quality of tire are the Michelins.
I can understand if there is some disagreement, but I tend to trust this guy--he and his garage have been doing tire and maintenance stuff for our cars for close to 20 years now.
