Today I was lucky enough to test drive the Scion FR-S in Baltimore! Scion had set up a small autocross track in one of the parking lots for Ravens Stadium. Scion had a total of 5 cars at the event and 3 of them were available for the test drive. The interior of the car was nicer than I expected. The fit and finish of everything was very nice. Now Ill get to my driving impressions. Unfortunately this car was an automatic

but the paddle shifters seemed pretty good on the track. The handling of this car made it a blast to drive on a super tight track! The car was very tight and remained flat through the corners. I felt like I was driving the car into the turns as hard as I could and wasn't loosing any grip. We were told that these cars had the TRD Lowering Springs, the TRD Exhaust and Enkei Wheels with Yokohama tires. Im not sure how much the springs and tires were contributing to the handling characteristics of this car cause I have not driven one that was stock. The TRD exhaust had a great tone to it and wasn't super loud. Im not usually a fan of factory performance exhausts but this was one of the better ones I've heard. The power of the car was perfect for an autocross course and felt very peppy. Overall I would say Im very impressed with this car and would like to drive this again!
